Group Fitness Classes are either held in Studio A or Studio B in the upper level of the community center. Some classes may also be held in the Multi-Athletic Court (MAC).
Group Fitness classes are for ages 14 and up. Ages 12-13 are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.
Body Sculpt (60 minutes) – This class is designed to give you a lean and sculpted look using hand weights. You choose your weights, 2 lbs. and up. We use repetition to cause muscle fatigue which helps build that sculpted look. Our instructors will take you through a full hour of total body work with moves working shoulders, back, arms, legs, and abs with little to no cardio. You will be instructed on how to use proper form and technique to give you great results. Whether you are a long time group fitness participant, or new to group fitness, this class is for you. With moves that are easy to follow, this really is a class for everybody.
Boot Camp (60 minutes) - In this class you use your body weight to perform various moves on different muscle groups. Boot Camp drills and toning exercises will get you in shape and get your heart rate up.
Cardio/Fit Pump (45 minutes) - In this class you will incorporate weighted bars, weights and tubing to promote the improvement of muscular endurance while conditioning the muscles to respond with definition resulting in a lean body composition.
Cycling (50 minutes) - Indoor cycling is a high-intensity exercise that involves using a stationary exercise bicycle in a classroom setting. The class involves an instructor at the front of the class who leads participants through routines that are designed to simulate situations similar to riding a bike outdoors. The atmosphere includes low lighting and music to motivate.
Combo (60 minutes) - Enjoy a variety of step, kickbox, and/or hi/low. You will enjoy doing 10 to 15 min. of each one to spice things up.
Forever Fit (45 minutes) – Lower impact aerobics in several different formats.
Insanity (30 or 50 minutes) – Insanity in the group fitness format is an intense interval training workout using athletic drills, with modification to accommodate a variety of fitness levels. You’ll see measureable results with passionate people; you’ll master your own motivation and be surrounded by others who want you to accomplish your best; you’ll push harder, higher, stronger that you ever thought possible and have fun doing it! You can expect to soak through your clothes and with max interval training, you’ll torch calories well after class is over.
Kickboxing (60 minutes) - High energy, high intensity punching and kicking gives you a fun way to let off some steam. Kickboxing at its best targets large muscle group conditioning while keeping your heart rate in the proper training zone. Challenge your fitness level and push it to the limit.
Kids Fit for ages 3 to 5 (30 minutes) - Kids ages 3 to 5 will learn about their muscle groups while doing fun activities such as marching in place to warm up, leaping like a frog, stomping like a rabbit, practicing monkey arms and other fun activities such as red light/green light.
**PARENTS MUST ACCOMPANY THEIR CHILD TO THE PROGRAM AND BE PRESENT DURING CLASS. No street shoes allowed, includes no sandals, flip flops or boots.
Pilates (20-25 minutes) - Pilates is performed in a reclined or sitting position. Most of the exercises are low impact and focus on strengthening and stretching. Pilates builds strength without excess bulk creating a sleek, toned body. It teaches body awareness, good posture, and proper breathing. Pilates improves flexibility, agility, and range of motion. It is suitable for all ages, the physically active, those who are sedentary and male or female.
Yolates (25 minutes) – A combination of pilates and yoga.
Yoga (45 minutes) / Power Yoga (90 minutes) - Yoga is a low impact class based on the Eastern idea of moving energy through the body. Yoga is for all ages, male and female and you do not have to be flexible to start. Flexibility along with a number of other benefits will come as you take these classes.
Yoga Blend (50 minutes) – Yoga Blend is a combination of Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates. It is designed to strengthen, tone and add flexibility to your muscles and ligaments; working your entire body. The class is for all levels, with modifications for those w/ injuries and those who are more advanced. Class will leave you feeling rejuvenated from the inside out.
Yoga Vinyasa (60 minutes) – This class is a style of power yoga, each pose flowing right into the next. The flow creates dynamic energy that keeps your internal heat up and your heart pumping.
SilverSneakers® – Muscular Strength & Range of Movement Class (MSROM)
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
SilverSneakers® - Cardio Circuit - Combine fun and fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work using hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, head to toe stretching, and complete relaxation in a comfortable position.
SilverSneakers® - YogaStretch - This class is designed to challenge you physically and mentally with a variety of simple and safe yoga exercises that you’ll do at your own pace. Using a chair for support, you’ll increase flexibility, build endurance and learn how to relax and think more clearly.
Zumba (60 minutes) – A dance fitness program created by dancer and choreographer Alberto "Beto" Perez in Colombia during the 1990s. The Zumba class uses Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. The workout provides fitness benefits because its routines feature interval training sessions with fast and slow rhythms and resistance training, which are intended to tone and sculpt the body while burning fat.
Zumba Sentao (60 minutes) – Zumba fitness experience with explosive, chair-based choreography to strengthen, balance, and stabilize your core as well as step up your cardio work in a whole new way. By transforming the chair into a dance partner you have the perfect balance of red-hot cardio and total-body toning.
Zumba Tone (60 minutes) – Zumba (see description above) using hand-held weights.
Water Aerobics Class Descriptions - **All the water workouts are for men and women and begin with a stretching segment and end with a cool down. You need not be a swimmer to come to class. Enjoy yourself and feel fit!
Early Bird Classes (5:45am & 6:00am) – Moderate to high intensity workout using weights, bar bells and noodles.
Water Aerobics (8:00am & 9:00 am) – Low to moderate intensity. This class begins with a brisk warm up, jogging in place and some arm exercises to get the heart rate up and try to sustain for at least 15 minutes. Using the edge of the pool for support you’ll also work on balance, good posture and deep breathing.
Evening Aerobics at 5:30pm – Moderate to high intensity workout using weights, bar bells and noodles.
Aqua Zumba – Known as the Zumba “pool party”, Aqua Zumba gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting, laughing, hooting and hollering are often heard during an Aqua Zumba class. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness desciplines, Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning and, most of all, exhilarating beyond belief!
