Water Aerobics

The West River Community Center offers water aerobics Monday through Friday at the West River Community Center. All water workouts are for men and women and begin with a stretching segment and end with a cool down. You need not be a swimmer to attend class.

Deep Water Aerobics Class!

Join us for a fun and challenging workout using flotation cuffs and resistance equipment. A non-impact workout that is easy on the joints yet totally exhilerating for all fitness levels. Class is held in the deep end of the lap pool. Swimming skills are not necessary as the flotation cuffs keep you buoyant and your head is above the water the entire class. Class includes cardiovascular and toning exercises, 50 minutes in length. Class is limited, so please pick up a number from the Control Desk.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS: (Schedule subject to change)

Monday’s

Water Aerobics with Sherry (8:00-9:00 am) – This class begins with a brisk warm up, jogging in place and some arm exercises to get the heart rate up and try to sustain for at least 15 minutes.  Using the edge of the pool for support you’ll also work on balance, good posture and deep breathing.  The class ends with a cool down and stretches.
Water Aerobics LITE (9:00-10:00 am) – Sherry will guide you through a lower intensity, lower impact workout.

Tuesday’s & Thursday’s

Wake up with Billie (6:00-7:00am) – Moderate to high intensity workout using weights, bar bells and noodles.

Jump Start Your Day with Marie (8:00-9:00 am) - This class is designed to get your morning started, getting the blood flowing and the heart rate up.  A lot of resistance work using the bar bells and a little weight work using the 1 pound dumbbells.

Evening Aerobics with Char (5:30 -6:30pm) – Moderate to high intensity workout using weights, bar bells and noodles.
Deep Water Aerobics (7:00-8:00 pm) – This class is done in the lap pool using Hydro-Fits Cuffs that enhance the natural buoyancy and resistance of water.  Cuffs can be worn on your ankles or around your waist. Each class will consist of cardio sequences and toning. Instructors may vary.

Wednesday’s

Sunrise with Mary (5:45-6:45am) – Moderate to high intensity workout using weights, bar bells and noodles.
Deep Water Aerobics (6:00-7:00am) – This class is done in the lap pool using Hydro-Fits Cuffs that enhance the natural buoyancy and resistance of water. Cuffs can be worn on your ankles or around your waist. Each class will consist of cardio and toning. Instructors may vary.

Whacky Wednesday with Sherry (8:00-9:00 am) – This class uses the blue bar bell floats for resistance.

Water Aerobics LITE (9:00-10:00 am) – Sherry will guide you through a lower intensity, lower impact workout.

Friday’s
